JT (Joule-Thomson) Plants use a drop in gas pressure to create a gas chilling effect which makes them self-refrigerated. This causes heavier hydrocarbons to be condensed out of the gas allowing the residue gas to meet the pipeline BTU specification. The recovered liquids are then stored for fractionation into propane, butane and even natural gasoline.
JT plant designs manufactured by Allied Equipment require less capital to operate than the standard plant resulting in lower cost. They are built to exact customer requirements and meet the strict ASME and BBI codes.
